I want to hear about your bear collection!

I am a collector as well as an artist, and I LOVE to hear about other people's bear collections! Also, although I do have a "Suggestion Box" on my website, it can sometimes take "forever" before suggested bears come into being...often due to fur inventory.

So I thought it would be fun to do a series of fast & easy surveys. Here's the first one of the series....
What Size Bears do you Collect?

For your little survey, I put down 6-9 inch. I like small bears, but not always miniscule... I enjoy a bear that can travel around with me in my purse or bag!

My bear collection, currently, varies, from Gund classics to hand-made sculpey bears.

I have several artists that I desperately want to buy bears from... but of course, since they're such high quality, it can get rather expensive, so I have to wait!

It's hard to say really, I went for 6-9 too.

I do prefer bears a little bigger than that when I make them myself, I do have a 14" bear, but all the others I own fall under the 6-9 - They tend to be more affordable and I own mainly Jenny Loves Benny bears and she tends to make them smallish - so the size matters less than the style - although the price does have a 'bearing' on whether I buy.
I love the more expenxive bears, and think the price is fair, but I cannot afford them and to buy Mohair for myself...lol.

mary said , I save all sizes but love the 4-9" ones the best. I have all kinds.
Money is my biggest problem on the buying of bears

I have two bear collections. The bears in the living room are 9-12" in height, and each is a different type of recycled fur (fox, mink, sheared beaver). My main collection, however, is my purple pandas. They're all between 3-6" in height and made out of various materials. All are handmade, and most are custom orders, so my husband and I have a deal: I'm allowed one per month under $100, or one every two-three months if they cost more. Unfortunately, I've now gotten my young daughter hooked on the hobby, too!

Heather how neat - a bear that can travel with you :)

Mary & Emo bears - I do understand what you mean about price. These are luxury items :) I often save up and cut costs in other ways in order to afford my bear habit LOL!

Soyola, what a great deal you have with hubby!! Of course, your daughter may now want the same deal :) I think it's awesome that you've gotten her into the hobby as well :)
